Representing oneself in court can be emotionally challenging. This is especially true in matters involving children and families where litigants must navigate through a process that requires extensive paperwork and interpreting special statutes and rules that apply in these matters. Many people are unable to obtain counsel for these types of proceedings or elect to represent themselves. The more informed a self-represented litigant is about the process, the better position that person will be in when the time comes to resolve the case during mediation or at a hearing. Family Law Day is an opportunity for members of the public to learn about the procedures in cases involving families and children and connect with resources in the community. We are excited to once again offer this program to those in the community who may benefit from the additional resources and support, including self-represented litigants and supporters, and to anyone who is interested in learning more about family law cases in the 4th Judicial District.
